I am entering Kawishiwi next Wednesday. Wondering about how long it takes to get to Polly where we plan to basecamp? Pretty experienced single portage group. Thanks. Also any fishing recs on Polly would be greatly appreciated.

Single portaging it's 6 miles to Polly. Even if you don't travel any faster than I do solo, it won't take you 3 hours.

Boonie nailed it. 5.7 miles (4.7 paddling,1.0 portaging). 2.5 - 3 hours. It makes for a leisurely day of paddling. The portages are fairly easy.

A few hours should do it based on your description of the group. With an inexperienced group that wastes a lot of time at portages it can be much longer. The fastest I know between Malberg and that EP is 4 hours. So Polly could be a bit faster.

I am slow. 4 hrs for me.

It might depend on if the short portages have enough water to pull through or not and whether or not you get stuck thigh high in muck around one of the beaver dams LOL.

I have also paddled that River when you basically had to shove your boat along because the water levels were too low. Hopefully that is not the case this month!
