Heading to Mudro/Fourtown/Crooked/Horse mid September, and looking for info on the current situation with Yellow Jacket activity in that vicinity.

Those things do seem to come out this time of year don't they

Yeah, they get bad this time of year because the “workers” are relieved of their duties. The hives become abandoned after next year’s queens have hatched and that’s why you see so many around. They are generally a little less feisty during this time and a little sluggish as it is near the end of their cycle. You still ought to be careful around them though, especially if allergic. Just let them bee and they’ll let you be.

Have not seen any. Temps are cool right now, so I think there activity is low right now.

Little ways away but at brule we had some white/bald face ones annoying us at camp.

Keep in mind not to swat or step on them if you do encounter any. If you do it releases a chemical marker that triggers an attack response from others.
