Just finished gluing together a 4" PVC rod case for my son's fly rod. Still need to paint it.

What materials and method would others recommend for adding an adjustable carrying strap?

That looks interesting, but I'm not familiar with the disconnect fittings. Are those a regular hardware store item? Are they just glued in from the inside?

Also hoping to get it done for $10 or so...
