Hmmm. From a review for the same chair when sold singly:

"Buyer Beware....The information on the website and the description does not mention that this chair has a WEIGHT LIMIT. The tag inside the chair says "max load 160 lbs". Critical information that should be listed in the advertising. Most adults will are much more than the maximum capacity . This chair is ONLY FOR CHILDREN OR SMALL TEENS. My 100 lb grandson now has a new camping/hiking chair, until he hits his growth spurt! It is not sturdy enough to take a lot of movement with a person sitting in it."

I'm not refuting your story. But it does say in the description of the chair in the Wal-Mart site from the link that the weight capacity is 250lbs. So I'm not sure which one they bought , or if they sent the wrong one or what.

id also add that I have two of these chairs- not this exact one but the one with the solid black canvas fabric - and I'm 260+ and it holds me just fine despite the 250 limit. The only thing that looks different is this particular chair looks to be a slylon type fabric- which probably lowers the weight. Seems to be pretty decent construction. I've used it on uneven surfaces and even had it slip to where all the force is concentrated on one leg and I would have thought that with movement the torsion forces would have destroyed the plastic hubs but they're surprisingly durable . weighs more than the helinox I guess but for $20 so what!

EDIT: the one with the black canvas that I have has STEEL legs. This one is aluminum. That's probably a big difference. I can't vouch for this particular one but the steel one is legit. - and cheaper anyways!!

Ozark trail seems to be a Walmart brand that basically takes popular products and builds a cheaper version. The price point is great and the quality although not as high as original products they copy is usually decent. For example a YETI mug is $29, the Ozark trail is $7-9.

I won’t be purchasing but if price was keeping me from bringing a chair, I’d try one and feel pretty confident it would work.

I can second the all black with steel legs. I picked up two this spring just to have something until I can afford two with a higher price tag. I can say we have had no problems. I am 5' 10" and 195 lbs and I can move freely in the chair and slouch down and kick up my feet and I am not worried about it folding or breaking. I would never get an Ozark Trail tent but the chairs seem great for a lower cost option. I also have two 40 degree bags from OT that pack down very small. I got them as they looked very similar to what the outfitter I went through used. Used them this past weekend and I was hot in it. I have a flannel liner that will add another 12 degrees but I didn't use it.

I received the aluminum version of this chair in the mail today. The weight capacity was originally 160, but there was a 250 lbs sticker covering the 160.

I'm about 220 lbs and brought along both chairs this year. The chairs held up great, no issue at all. I've used them outside the BWCA at beaches too, with no problems. If the ends of the chair sink in the mud, you may pull off the rubber pad, so watch for that. Can't beat the price. Worked great for what we used them for.
