Found a couple pictures of some catfish that I caught up there a few years back . My group caught over 30 that day, none under 15 pounds. Think the biggest was around 30 pounds. Think it was a late July trip.

Neat pictures wallee, we made a lot of trips up there during the late 80's to the mid 90's, definitely a heck of a fishery. It is also an amazing fall walleye fishery, although I don't think it is as good as it used to be due to the commercial walleye fishery on Lake Winnipeg. I've recently heard that they may be opening up a commercial catfishery on the lake also. If so, it would probably ruin the catfishing also. Seems crazy with the almost zero harvest regulations on the river. My first trip to the Lockport/Selkirk area of the river I fished for 6 days, caught 75 cats from 13# -27 1/2# with an 18.6 pound average. I would like to do it again someday.

Than that is some big channels. I have friends who use to fish the flats in the Red River toward Winnepeg(sp) lake in the fall. Did excellent.
