Can anyone tell me if the 24 to 36 inch rule is still in effect for northern pike? Thank you for your help.

In NE MN, you can keep two pike, none between 30-40 inches. You can keep one pike over 40 inches.

EGKNUTI is correct except for Minnesota/Canada Border Waters. Basswood Lake still has a slot where all Pike from 24-36 must immediately be released. Only one over 36" can be kept.

So, are there any BWCA lakes where you can keep a Pike 24 to 36 inches long ?

Yes, many. See the first response. You may keep two pike. Anything up to 29 is legal. 30-40 is entirely catch and release. One of your two keepers may be 40+.

This is the general regulation for the NE zone. Rules for spearing can be different, as well as border lakes and lakes with special management in effect. Always check the DNR site for specifics.
