Spent a week on lake One with the grands. While we were not too affected, camps within this area were usually filled each night. The question is: When is the last time anyone saw a bear in this area?

I'd imagine bears are all over in that area. Popular entry lake normally brings new people in as well as people who don't really follow all the rules and are more careless as far as keeping a clean camp.

Jaywalker: "Were the campsites filled with people or bears? I seem to recall several problem bears in the Lake 3 and Rifle area. Suspect they were removed though. "

eroom: "We were having lunch at one of the campsites on Lake Two near the portage to Lake One on 9/8. We heard something big crashing through the woods, but saw nothing."
Just an opinion, but I'd say loud crashing is more often a moose than a bear. Moose dont seem to care how much noise they make, but bears often move through the woods in silence.

Didn't the Packers beat the Lake One Bears a couple weeks ago? :)
