I'm heading to the Clearwater area (hoping to stay on West Pike) at the end of the month and am hoping to catch a couple fish. Ideally some lakers for a good fight and good eat. I've got lake topo for that whole area so I'm set there, as far as where I might expect to find fish, but if anyone has any tips for which baits they've used with success, or is willing to share any spots, I'd love to hear it!

I'd contour troll 40'-60'deep for LT. Once you find a school you can go vertical on them.

That was the plan, but you reminded me of snap weights and I decided to check Amazon. Silly of me not to check before. Of course they're on Amazon! So I'm getting a bunch of weights and some clips in the mail soon, and will probably put 3/4oz or 1oz about 2ft in front of a deep tail dancer, right above the swivel I think. Should get it down to 40ft I hope... don't want to troll TOO deep, but I'll have the option.

Get a 3 inch Berkeley swim shad let out about 50 to 75 feet of line and just paddle over deeper water they will come up to hit it

I will be there next week. Fished West Pike last year as well with some success. We were quite deep. Fishing in 100+ water at about 50'-65' down. Large Mann's cranks and spoons worked well.
