Has anyone used Sno-Seal on a Big Agnes tent. I know that BA recommends Nikwax but I have been reading all the options and Atsko Sno-Seal Water-Guard Extreme looks pretty effective. But it has petroleum distillates (i.e., not water based).

Is the BA tent leaking? Did you contact BA about it?
BA tents currently use a silicon treated nylon with a specifically formulated urethane coating to enable the seam tape to stick (a description I got from BA tech service personnel).
I would not use anything on one or any processes not recommended by BA.

It is not leaking, but not shedding water. Here is BA response yesterday.
"Thanks for reaching out, and I'm sorry to hear your tent is taking on water. We recommend Nikwax because we've tested it and we know it doesn't have any negative effects on the existing waterproof coatings. My personal favorite re-waterproofing treatment is Gear Aid Revivex DWR, however others can do just as well. Just make sure the treatment you use is designed for nylon, it looks like Sno-Seal is for leather unless my quick googling turned up the wrong type, Kiwi Camp Dry appears to be ok."

I wouldn't use/waste a leather product on a tent. Camp Dry is usually a safe bet for some quick water repellancy. I usually use 303 High Tech Fabric Guard these days because I always have some on hand (note: 303 will not bond to polypropylene, but tents aren't made of pp, so that's a moot point here). Camp Dry is just a silicone water-repeller. 303 HTFG is a solvent-carried flouro-polymer that not only repels water but also resists water and oil-based soiling/staining and releases these compounds much easier. It's mostly marketed toward boats and patio furniture/shades, but I and many other auto detailers use it for convertible tops and interior cloth protection.
Yeah, I know it sounds "salesy" but I'm a mobile detailer, and the specific details of what a product can and can't do for me are important to me and my clients, so I know the product too well not to sound salesy when describing it.

If the fabric is wetting out it needs to be cleaned, with a non-detergent soap. Then a fresh DWR application. I do like and use Nikwax products for both, and prefer a washing/soaking not a spray. Many hand wash, I have a front loading washer with a very gentle cycle and like to use that. Have used Gear Aid products also with good results.
Not a fan of aerosol sprays especial those containing petroleum products for technical gear treatment. Just too much investment in good gear to take chances. Rather choose a water soluble mix out of a pump spray bottle.
My personal experience with Snow Seal drove me away form any of their products.
