I listen to a few different Podcasts related to hunting and just listened to a great podcast from Wired to Hunt which is associated with TheMeatEater. Mark Kenyon from Wired to Hunt and a few of his friends just did a BWCA whitetail deer hunting trip and they outlined the trip on their latest podcast. Its a great listen and it clearly impacted these guys.
These guys spend a lot of time in the wild all over the country and they were blown away by the BWCA and how special it is. Sounds like they are all first timers to the area. I just got done listening to part 1 of the podcast that talked about their trip. Just starting part 2 which is about the protection of the BWCA.

I'm curious though, Adam did these guys give you a call prior to their trip? They mentioned an online resource with portage and campsite ratings and that they talked with a guy named Adam that was more helpful than anyone else they talked with. Just assuming it might have been you.

great podcast...I love these guys..the whole meateater crew. Mark also has a new book out " this wild country" I think...which is about public lands, access etc. All really good stuff. I really like the conservation aspect of their brand..they are not just doing kill shots on big bucks but are practicing stewardship of the land.

Thats what I love about Mark Kenyon and Steve Rinella and really the entire crew. The main focus of what they do is obviously hunting but they talk about it through the lens of land conservation and stewardship. I've enjoyed following their new project "The Back 40". They bought some land in Michigan and they've been documenting their process of improving the land for wildlife. They haven't focused on simply bringing in big bucks but have instead focused on a more holistic approach where they want to make their property better for birds, pollinators, and all wildlife in the belief that if its good for all of the little things it will also be good for the deer they want to hunt. Its a refreshing view of the hunting world instead of only seeing the chest betters that only want to smoke big bucks and will do anything to shoot the biggest buck they can. I think that style of hunting show is on its way out and the Meateater crew is really taking it over in a big and much better way.

If you haven't followed the Meateater podcast its a great listen. They talk about all kinds of interesting ecological issues, conservation issues, land and animal management issues, etc. They had a great episode about the wolf reintroduction and protection across the US and they had on an expert to talk about it that was really interesting and had new perspectives I hadn't heard before.

I'd love to sit down with some of these guys at the local bar and shoot the breeze over a couple beers. I think it would be really educational but also really entertaining.

Not sure who would host this type of podcast or where or if it is even a good idea.. I think it would be so cool if someone (maybe Adam? I'm sure he's got a million other things going on, too) hosted a podcast where BWCA members could vocally share their BWCA stories and adventures. I'm only 27 but with 9 BWCA trips and 1 Quetico trip under my belt, I guarantee I could talk for an hour or more about all the miraculous things I've seen and experienced in the great BWCA wilderness.

Tumblehome podcast would typically post once a week during the open water season. They record in various places including the field and what they call "studio k".

The other dedicated boundary waters podcast is the WTIP boundary waters podcast.

The WTIP podcast typically posts once a month. They usually include an interview with someone sharing a story about their experience in the bwca. I believe they record in a radio station studio.
