Several years ago I bought out a map store that was closing. I got 1000's of Topo maps of Ontario. Both sizes of maps 1:50,000 and 1:250,000. I have maps of nearly the entire area from East to west - Manitoba to Toronto; North to south - Detroit to the bottom of Hudson Bay in both sizes. In most cases multiple copies.
There are also some lake topo maps of more popular lakes.
These are all inventoried in huge Excel spreadsheets. I have a large index poster of all the maps I have in both sizes. I have many multiple containers of the maps, all sorted by area and number. There are more maps than you can possibly imagine. I have jpg pictures of all the indexes, inventories, maps in the box and some individual maps for people to see. You can look at my index poster, find the map number on the poster and go to the corresponding container to find that map.
I am interested in selling these as large sets. Say, one copy of all the 1:50,000 and one copy of all the 1:250,000. I would also be interested in selling all the maps to one buyer at one price.
Anyone interested?
Thanks
DAVE

What kind of pricing are we talking about? I might be interested in a set of everything west of Lake Nipigon (including Lake Nipigon). And maybe more...but it doesn't look like you go up as far as the west side of James Bay.

Really neat - am potentially interested in a bunch of the 1:50,000's but many dozens would be overkill for me.
I used to live walking distance from that map store.

Well, Pricing.... I paid $ 1000 for all of these maps and would like to recoup that.
So here's an idea of what I have:
1:50,000 maps - in the area of my picture, there are a total of 1129 maps shown. I am missing about 69 of them from that area. (I have 1060 different maps from that area). The areas that are highlited in orange are missing. The areas in yellow i have and the red numbers tell you how many maps of that area I have.. Counting the multiples I have a total of 2169 maps.
I would sell someone this entire set of nearly 1060 maps for $ 500 (less than .50 cents a map!). This includes the poster index and the containers.
1:250,000 maps- the area of the 250,000 series is a little bigger, goes up along James Bay further. There are 182 maps in this area and I have 150 of those 182. Counting multiples I have 257 maps of this area. (unfortunately Quetico and other areas are all missing). I would sell this set of 150 maps for $ 150. This would include the poster index and the containers; all inventoried.
I have a partial set of 1:100,000 and also some lake depth maps especially in the Red Lake area (some of them are protected in plastic).
If someone wanted all the maps I have - that would be well over 3000 maps, all in containers, all inventoried- I would take what I paid for them $ 1000.
Unfortunately, selling just partial areas for a lesser price (like everything to the west of James Bay) would make the others worthless. If someone only wanted the partial areas but was willing to pay more for them, I would be interested in talking. If someone wanted to buy individual maps of ones I have multiples of I would also sell them individually.
