Looking for suggested routes including entry point options for a solo trip destined fro Little Saganaga. Would be for early June. Thanks for input.

Little Sag is usually a two day trip from either Seagull or Round Lake starts.

Starting at Round you have two options. Brant with eight portages to a camp on Gillis and then 4 more to L. Sag the next day, or Missing Link with only 7 total portages to L Sag, but the mile long portage to Tuscarora early on. That portage is likely to be very messy early in the season. I'm sure both of those have been done in a day by folks liking that sort of challenge.

Starting at Seagull its 9 portages to L Sag. Nice to break it up and stay on Ogishkemuncie.

The portages are easier from Seagull, but the lakes are bigger if wind and waves cause you concern. Except for Gillis and Tuscarora, the Round Lake start is more sheltered.

A trip from Seagull to Round Lake is pleasant with a short shuttle. I have hitchhiked the shuttle easily in the past. My next trip will be bunkhouse and car parking at Tuscarora Outfitters, their good breakfast and a shuttle to Seagull River/Saganaga entry and 10 day paddle back to my car. It could be a 5 or even 4 day trip, but I am old and slow and like a bunch of rest days in the mix.

Andy, at Tuscarora Outfitters, did a Round Lake to Seagull day trip last season through the Paulson lake(former Jap lake) route. Some major portaging to cut paddle miles.

Round Lake entries would be the quickest way if that's your goal. I have been there on a loop from Kawishiwi to Sawbill also, so you could get there from either in a couple of long days. Whether you double or single portage may make a difference.

Starting at Kawishiwi Lake provides a route on much smaller lakes and would avoid most wind/big lake complications.

You don't say how long you plan to be out or other goals for your trip but one route often overlooked is straight north out of Sawbill/Kelso.

Sawbill, Kelso River, Kelso Lake, Kelso River, Lujenida Lake, Zenith Lake, Duck Lake, Hug Lake, Mesaba Lake, Hub Lake, Fente Lake, Whipped Lake, Mora, Lake, Little Sag. While this route is not without its challenges (long portages mostly), it is also one of the least travelled portions of the BW. Don't want to come back the same way? Go west and head south to Lake Polley and head back through the Lady Lakes. OR head east through Tuscarora to Snipe Lake and Cross Bay and then South through Long Island and Cherokee Lake.

Either of these loops will take about a week.

Cross Lake to Frost, then take the Frost River. Gorgeous country.

Thanks for all of the suggestions and for the call for clarification on purpose.
Hadn't considered the Sawbill north route....interesting. Also like to stay first night at Sawbill campground after a long drive up.

Goals(in no particular order):
Prefer traveling smaller water for more intimate nature views though like a mix also
Not in a hurry so always double portage
Would like areas that improve my chances to catch Walleye for meals
Would like to minimize encountering caravans
