Hey guys and gals! Quick question, my wife and I are going to do a winter camping trip over New Years in the BWCA. We would like to stay fairly close to Ely and don't want to walk in super far - probably less than 2 miles. Another requirement: we don't want to see a lot of other people. We went to Wood Lake last year and loved it. I'm leaning towards Lake One, but I have already been there in the summer and I always like to go to new places. The outfitter at Piragis suggested Slim Lake. Any recommendations?

If you want to stay close to Ely, Slim Lake would be the best entry point. A portion of the North Arm Ski Trails cross Slim, but I doubt you'll see too many people, especially if you camp on the north end of the lake.

How about Parent on the other side of Snowbank?
