17' cedar wood strip for sale. New, never been in the water. This is the 9th canoe I've built and just enjoy building these. Redbird design with upswept ends. 55#. West System epoxy with 6 oz cloth.

Not a scratch on this as it's never been in the water. Test drives available in an identical or in this one if care is taken.

Located Northern Iowa/Southern Minnesota. $1400

This is a beautiful canoe. Classic, fast, light. I bought it’s twin a while back. Good canoe, enjoyed the test drive. Perfect since.

Thanks Aunuki, glad it lives up to expectations. Yes, this is a twin to the one you have. I made one more since these two. The next one was more of a cargo hauler, but was sold before I started it. And for anyone interested in the test drives, I live on a river below a low head dam with open water year round.

Thanks and Happy Holidays.

Having experience with building these boats, I can say that you're giving it away. Anyone interested should jump on this like a duck on a June bug.

I agree, close to half price of similar canoes I have seen.

I agree that this is a real bargain. I had a cedar strip for 20 years, almost identical to the one you are selling, and it made over 15 trips to the BW. Everyone we saw on the portages and lakes commented how beautiful it was. I now have a Northstar Northwind 17 and sold the cedar strip for $1200. I'm tempted, but our second and third canoes are still in good shape.

Nice boat, which river are you near the dam on? (I'm from northern IA originally in a town w/ a dam)

St Ansgar IA on the cedar river. Currently we have approx. 1/2 mile of open water.

Beautiful work! Do you ever make shorter, solo canoes?

I haven't but could. I do have plans for a 14' version that is supposed to weigh 40 - 45#. The specs look interesting...1 1/2" rocker and 34" width.

I'm very interested in this canoe and would like to come check it out this weekend if possible. How can I contact you? You can email me at roza@wctatel.net
