We have made several trips to Chad Lake in the past years. Our most recent trip was in 2018 when we noticed that the beavers had started to build a dam on Pine Creek right at the start of the portage into Chad. In 2019 we attempted to head to Chad Lake again from Trout Lake through Pine Creek. When we arrived at the Pine Creek entrance, no water, we were wondering if the beaver dam dried up Pine Creek north of the Chad Lake portage? Does anyone have any information on this route from Trout Lake down Pine Creek to Chad Lake portage?

I have only approached by following Pine Creek from Pine Lake. We had to do a couple pullovers, but there was water. I have never come from the Trout Lake direction.

I have not been to Chad lake via Pine Creek since 2017. It would be a shame if the creek dried up north of Chad lake. I do remember there being a substantial dam built creating a large pond at the end of the portage going into Chad.
