If you were on the page before 9 and are just refreshing your browser, you may need to open a new window and start over. That's what I needed to do and got it to work.

The checkout has been processing for a few minutes but I've received a confirmation email already.

I got on a 9:05. Government computer just can't get the time right.

I was looking for EP 50 (Cross Bay Lake) for May 17. The system kept defaulting me to May 16. I had to double and triple check that the system didn't reset me as I moved through each step. In the end, I got everything correct and my permit was issued.

Same deal of a delay for me. Looks like I'll be going in a day earlier as the day I was hoping for was taken in the first few minutes...I guess that just means a longer trip now. :)

TRICK! I found that if you, instead of filling in the calendar field, when it goes to the wrong day, scroll down to the individual date where it shows numbers of permits per day. Worked for me.

First time user. Looking for EP12. Only saw a list of lakes... how do I know what lake for crying out loud??!!

Then I can only get the permit one day early?? Come on... I have to travel from Ely, paddle across VNP and enter two days later. Either canoe without a permit or enter with a day old permit.

Well. I made a good faith effort. I'm a violator one way or the other.

I'm assuming you're doing the Kruger/Waddell Challenge- You will want the Little Vermillion Lake Entry Point which is EP12. Select Piragis for your permit issuing station. Then when we'll loading up shuttles early in the morning of Sept 12th you get the permit issued so you can legally enter the BWCA either on September 12 or the 13th.

Got mine for June 14 up the Gunflint. Three permits for a church group I coordinate. Lizz-Swamp, Cross Bay, and East Bearskin. Also booked campsites for East Bearskin for the group the night before. All set.

I had no problem. I got my permit at 9:20.

Well, in full disclosure, I did have a problem on my first attempt when I thought it was Wednesday but in reality it was Tuesday.

BeaV. Yes you are exactly right. I got EP12 on the 12th and Piragis... wasn't sure what an issuing station was, but it worked. Thanks for providing extra info on timing to cover both dates.

They opened 5 minutes late, but at least the site didn't crash this year. That's a step in the right direction. Got my Little Gabbro permit without any issues.

I had a meeting until 9:45am but once I logged on it all went smoothly. Got a Bower Trout permit for my solo trip, a Cross Bay Lake for hubby and I in late July, and I am hoping to do the Moose Lake Challenge so I picked up a Moose Lake permit for September. Now I just have to convince work to have that time off. The 3rd graders study the Voyageurs so I am hoping to tie it to curriculum development :)

Went smoothly. Was fun to see the permits flying off the page!
Speaking frankly, and sorry if it offends, but I'm going to "paddle til hell won't have it" this summer: one with first-born son, one with newbie-turned-fanatic (coming home to a place she's never been before), and one for a dream solo following Boonie's Adams route.
And two to Canada, but that's a separate thread. Paddle on!

We got all 18 of our permits, no issues. Took less than an hour, and that includes answering the phone and calling customers for more information.

I got all my permits I wanted with no problems. It was nice to see the site work properly, not like last year. Happy paddling!

I wonder how many Basswood permits flew off the page to the folks using phones before the computers opened up. Not fair in my opinion as one group had a 5 minute head start.

I was able to get my three permits as well without a hitch. Got them today. This will be my first time doing a canoe trip in August since I was very young. I fear the crowds will be bad but we're going with others and this is when they could go.
