Approximately how long does it take to get from Ogiskemuncie lake to Kekekabic lake single portaging.

It would be useful is you could provide some more details. For example, where on Ogish and Kek? Both are elongate lakes, so starting/ending at different ends of each lake could make a huge difference.

from campsite 786 to 1422 (these are approximately in the middle of each lake) is 7 miles. Figure around 3 mph average travel . So depending on single or double portage figure roughly around 2 1/2 to 3 hours

The distance between those two campsite is roughly 7 miles (6 miles of paddling and 1 mile of portaging). If you single portage and are a reasonably adept paddler, I would think you should be able to complete this trip in about 3 1/2 hours.

If I was single portaging and not fishing I would conservatively figure 2.5 hours to get from the western tip of Ogish to the eastern tip of Kek. It mostly depends on how fast you can load and unload the canoe.

Most people taking this route will want to add the short trip over to portage #332 between Eddy Lake and SAK to view Eddy Falls. This will add time.

Interestingly, I traveled from #783 at the very west end of Ogish to #1424 at the east end of Kek three times in a day when I was young and foolish (back in '16). We left #783 at high noon and arrived at #1424 (the second time) around 8pm. Another website's interactive map tells me that it's 3.5 miles of water and 108 rods of portaging from #783 to #1424. Figuring an hour of fishing/viewing Eddy Falls and an hour for eating supper and breaking camp on Ogish means we averaged 2 hours per trip. We were two inexperienced guys in their 20s and one inexperienced three year old dog with a ~60# fiberglass Jensen. We were leisurely fishing/day-tripping/smelling the flowers round one, going as fast as we could round 2 (completely empty except for paddles, LJs and canine) and fully loaded/double-portaging (still going as fast as we could) for round 3. We dead-lifted the canoe with some amount of gear still in it over most of the short portages except one that I remember being a boulder garden, requiring you to hop from rock to rock and another that felt significantly longer. My map says they are 5, 7, 9, 12, 16, 18, 20 and 21 rods but my memory says they were more like 2, 2, 2.5, 3, 3, 5, 10 and 30.

With a large, mixed-age group triple-portaging in heavy traffic, it could be an all-day affair. Good thing there are sites on Eddy. Fortunately, I don't think this route ever sees heavy traffic or large, mixed-age, triple-portaging groups considering how far it is from an EP.

I don't know where you're entering but when my friend and I left #1424 five days later, as seasoned paddlers, it only took us 8 hours to get to Seagull Canoe Outfitters which is at the easternmost tip of Seagull.
