I happened to be in a 5.11 store today and noticed some new packs. One looks like a nice shape and design for a small canoe pack. Padding was good, material was quite sturdy. Nice daisy chain on the front for lashing. I've been looking for a small pack similar to the CCS Explorer - this might fit the bill.

Interesting idea. It looks like it would work well. I read the description regarding water resistance, but I'd double check on that. I'd still line it regardless of what the manufacturer says about waterproofness.

If you get it, could you please post comments and impressions of the bag?

Looks like a cool option for a tackle box. You could fit 3-4 3700 size tackle trays in there and a ziploc bag of plastics. Each guy in our group usually brings 1 3700 size box of his own baits...that would be a nice way to carry them all at once...plus the daisy chain would give you some modular options.....I like it

Dimensions on this are quite a bit smaller than the Explorer from CCS but if that is your goal then that is fine. This pack comes closer to the Rucksack from Dan. I prefer having a waist belt on my packs which I don't think this pack has. Good luck with your search.

I own a lot of 5:11 gear, four packs. They make some real quality stuff. I don’t think you will be disappointed with you pack.
