i ran into this recipe at a family reunion. i think it's perfect for a solo paddler and keeping your cost down, maybe a day 2 meal.

my wife found this dry sealed tortalini at our local aldiis,it's kept in the non refrigerated area. drop this in your small pot and add just enough water to cover them and bring to a boil. strain off the water. add a balsimic vinergette dressing. just enough to wet it down. its a personal taste thing. dice up half a onion and a tomato. maybe toss in a handful of black olives and dice up some turkey slim jims. stir and eat. [she finds those turkey type slim jims in the pepperonii section]

i'm thinking bring the olives and soy and balsemic dressing in a small screw type nalgene bottle. i could even do that a 2nd time on a day 3 maybe.

i can cook this all in my snow peak 1400, with pleanty of boil over room

Sounds great! I'll have to try it. One plan of mine this summer is to bring in some vacuum sealed homemade ravioli. The noodles are fun to make and you can really put whatever you want inside. Only like 2-3 min boiling time

Trader Joe’s has some shelf stable cheese-filled ravioli and tortellini. The raviolis are very small and pack compactly. We’ve used them on a few trips. It’s an easy way to add some protein to a pasta meal.
