I think someone posted the "into the great solitude" link a few months ago. I watched it then. Thought it did a good job of showing what it is like being alone for so long when he was talking to his shadow. Did you watch them? What did you think?

Missed the original post...sorry for duplicate. Watched "solitude"- thought it was pretty deep on a lot of levels...the shadow segment was one of those parts with insightful commentary.

Not sure it was posted on this forum. Really glad you and other people post these as I would never find them on my own.

I remember seeing several of these on PBS years ago. Thanks for posting.

I didn't see this original post until now. Looks really interesting and if people have some time on their hands might want to watch. So, I wanted to bump it up! Thanks for posting, phisherman.

Sure thing TomT...unrelated but I loved reading about "your agreement" with the local bird life!

Yeah my job is to open and close the garage doors on time. Yesterday I was about an hour late opening up for them and they let me know about it. :)

Thanks for posting the videos. I had never seen them before. I ended up watching the "Into the Great Solitude" and learning about that river way up North.

I enjoy watching those kinda adventure movies and following the route with my laptop open to Google Earth. Also, I can pause the video and learn about things encountered along the way, like Father Joseph Buliard of Gerry Lake. Robert Perkins on his trip encountered the ruins of Father Buliard's cabin and I had to know more. In case you need to as well: The history of Father Buliard

Some cool solo journeys. He presented several years at Midwest's Mountaineering expos's. Interesting individual. I have a VHS of into the great Solitude no way to play it.
