Been a while, we arrived home 3 weeks ago Monday, from our tour of the south. We traveled with our teardrop camper to the Gulf , then moved inland to hill country of Texas, where i must say, if you have never been there, put it on your list of places to see. Just Beautiful.
Kerrville Texas was home for two weeks, as we stayed at a city park, in the trees, with electricity, and 10 miles of groomed mountain bike trails from our doorstep.
After 3 weeks in the teardrop, we decided we wanted more room. I found a larger teardrop, next size up in Oklahoma City, called them, put a down payment on it and began working our way north.
We stayed at different state parks , county parks, parks on lakes, along the road, just anywhere we pleased.
The virus situation was not blowing up yet, and we were quite distanced from people anyway. We prefer it that way ;)
Finding Oklahome City, we went to the dealer, and yes, it was meant to be, our new home on wheels awaited us there.
We did visit the Bombing museum, it was a somber pause in our trip.
After a great trade, we were on the road the next day heading east back to Bentonville Arkansas, where we hope the weather would co-operate, and we could enjoy the world class mountain bike trails.
The weather was favorable, we stayed a week, and had some incredible riding.
After the town started shutting down, we decided to come home.
Now, hanging out at home, riding bikes, planning our next adventures, we look forward to our travels.
I have seen changes here, people are gone, lives have passed, we all carry on.
Best wishes to all, travel safely this year, and be thankful.
We live , and are fortunate to live in such a Blessed Country. People of the south are beautiful, full of manners and grace. That stuck with me and i will practice being more like that.
Thanks for reading, and happy paddling. curt
