Must have been a good day of paddling and portaging. Love those days.

Technically sleeping on a small patch of sparse grass between rocks but I'm calling it close enough.

I took this picture of a friend napping on a rock in Winchell after a long day of paddling.

He later got even by taking the second picture of me. This may well be the best picture of me that any camera has ever captured.

Early morning paddle on Gaskin.

This is a funny thread. Everyone looks so pooped out after a hard day, and yet, so relaxed. I guess when you're worn out, you can sleep anywhere, especially if you fall asleep in the warm sun.

Can't wait to do that this summer in the Q, if the border opens, that is.

I was on a Snake river trip many years ago early in the spring where we ended up taking an unplanned swim, if it weren't for some dark rocks that we laid on to warm up, we may not have made it. The river sucked the heat out of us, and the rocks slowly put it back in.

there are some rocks in the BW/Q that I swear were carved by the glaciers to fit my back

OMG, when you are just a little chilly from a swim and find that perfectly warm, form-fitting rock. The best naps I have ever taken, hands down. How a rock can be that comfortable....

After two hours of portaging on a hot sunny day. It looked like Jonestown.

About 10 years ago. We did around 20 miles in the wind. One Match used in his "To Tired to Start a Fire" video. Back when the Sherpa was a little guy. Has to be some rocks under there.

It's funny how comfortable a warm rock can be at the end of a long portage!
