Here's another CL special. Looks like a real steal. If the owner is a member here, no offense intended, but he should be paying someone to haul it away instead of trying to sell it for $200. I would be embarrassed to list something like this.

That would be a fun project. I wonder how the hull looks underneath.

Just needs a little TLC...............tools, luck and cash

Seats look pretty good. Start there and rebuild, replace the rest... no sweat...

I could fix it without too much trouble. That said, i wouldn't pay for it. If it was free, i'd consider going to get it and adding it to the project list.

That's a big planter! I could grow a lot of flowers in it.

Ha! Funny, I was thinking the same thing. Even so, I'm still thinking it would be better served in the landfill.

We bought a similar one with same rotted out gunwales for $50 and have refurbished it. It is now our main BW canoe. But the hull on ours was in better shape than this one. $200 is seriously overpriced.

I don't mean to hijack the post, but here's a story about a friend, a retired art teacher/paddler/DNR field worker, who rescued an Old Town Pack canoe, and brought it back to life.

That's an interesting and informative article. Took some ingenuity to get that done.

I bought one years ago that wasn't quite this bad for $175. It cleaned up very nicely. I worry about this one's kinky hull spots.

Very nice work on the rebuild.
Yeah, the hull on the CL boat has a few kinks that may be a problem.

I repaired a few boats with the wood rotted out on them most I have got for free the most I paid 20 dollars for one.

If some one gave this one I would work on it but one would never recoup ones time or money.

snapped pic of this one today free project canoe just needs a little love and TLC, no rust, still partially floating after 15 years, all original, a real steal...If you get this one done there is another about three miles upstream that I can point you to that's been wrapped around a bridge piling for the last 12 years...

It may be free but it’s a square stern. Otherwise it looks great.

04/28/2020 10:18AM
There's an old square stern at the JAP end of Seagull/JAP portage. It looked functional. It's a bit dented up. It's tucked under a rock ledge a little ways back on the on the portage. I think the last registration was from the 70's.

04/28/2020 10:26AM
Haha yeah it should be free. However it is always possible to hit a younger person who wants a project and doesn't know any better. Why not give it a go if you need the cash.
