pastorjsackett: "Anyone around my neck of the woods who knows about hammocks and be willing to show me the ropes? I just ordered my first.
Thanks.

I'm stuck in the Twin Cities, otherwise I'd love to meet up. What did you end up purchasing?
Endeavor to persevere.

pastorjsackett: "Right now I've got a Dutchware Chameleon on the way, looking at a webstite make my own underquilt, most likely at Warbonnet Minifly. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Jeff"
If you do any shoulder season trips I'd get the Superfly. You can always tie up the flaps in warmer weather.

I would get the Warbonnet Superfly in 20D Sil-poly unless you think you absolutely need something lighter (for say thru-hiking the AT). The Superfly is a four-season fly that offers the most flexibility, and the doors are worth their weight in gold when it comes to times when there's a cold wind or it's raining sideways.
You will love the Chameleon. It's my go-to hammock. Now you just need a down top quilt and underquilt and you're set!
