Anyone around my neck of the woods who knows about hammocks and be willing to show me the ropes? I just ordered my first.

Thanks.

I'm stuck in the Twin Cities, otherwise I'd love to meet up. What did you end up purchasing?

If you do any shoulder season trips I'd get the Superfly. You can always tie up the flaps in warmer weather.

Good tip! Thanks. I'm flying a little blind here....lots of stuff to watch and read but until one gets to really do it, it is hard to make a choice.

I would get the Warbonnet Superfly in 20D Sil-poly unless you think you absolutely need something lighter (for say thru-hiking the AT). The Superfly is a four-season fly that offers the most flexibility, and the doors are worth their weight in gold when it comes to times when there's a cold wind or it's raining sideways.
You will love the Chameleon. It's my go-to hammock. Now you just need a down top quilt and underquilt and you're set!

My Dutchware Chameleon arrived yesterday! Yessss....

I've arrived at the dark side. No return to the ground for me.
