:( The 2XL is sold out. Even with the sale, the value just isn't appealing on the smaller sizes.

Too bad they are out as that’s a heck of a sale. Keep in mind REI always has another 20% off sale coming around. I ordered one from them online during the last sale, and I think by buying a couple freeze dried meals along with it qualified for free shipping.

I was excited to get a 30L. It just doesn’t look like it should really be able to hold that much, but I bet it does. I did check my 15L model and it truly held 15 nalgenes full of water.

Received an email today that the 25% off sale ends today. When I checked all sizes were available.

My new Major arrived surprisingly quickly and the sale price is great. I'm not sure if I like the black or not; it's harder to spot than the white, which probably doesn't help against animal eyes (or noses), but does make it harder to find if you stash it too far outside camp.

At least in the early days, I remember that the founder, Tom, used whatever color fabric he could get. Now that he sold the company to a company that does more textile work, I'm not sure what their reasons are. I agree that I prefer ones that are easier to find (I have yellow, white (sort of yellow-white), and green ones). Also, I can write on the white ones best.
