I’ve a life long love for rainy days. With the virus restrictions, my usual haunts are seeing more people, which I’m not adjusting to (being the old curmudgeon), so I’ve been taking advantage of early morning and rainy days. I’ve had several amazing, steady rain days of having the woods all to myself. It’s been magical. I wanted to share some photos. If you care to share your rainy day pics feel free. I love the mini flash floods of the gullies. A lot of people never see this phenomenon (usually dry or a trickle).

Sorry no pics handy to post, but we are right there with you in attitude. Had a drizzly walk one night this week that was awesome. Only a few people out but we saw rabbits, a deer, and hawks.

Glad to hear you share the sentiments.

Another rainy day in the woods and the mayapples have finally bloomed. I was just here yesterday and they were not out yet.

Took a short hike checking out a local wildlife management area this morning. Primitive camping is allowed and options abound so I will be back. The hardwood forest floor is alive with bloom, but mid-forties was a bit chilly for gear I took. Next time.
Nature seems to come out more in the rain.

Another fantastic rainy day in the woods! No people.

At camp, the girls always loved rainy day activities. We never stayed in because it rained. I think as children were taught to not like rain. But it’s actually pretty awesome. Although, I admit after two or three days and being watersogged I can take the sun of course.

It was nice and warm today. Could truly appreciate the downpour in comfort.

The point of this post is to share a fantastic find.
