The way I read it, you need a trout license if you intend to eat a trout in the BWCA, correct? I haven't been to the BWCA for 7 years...

You need a trout license to fish trout in Minnesota or the BWCA. If you are NOT fishing for them, you don't need a trout stamp or if a resident 65 and older. If you are on a designated Stream trout lake you better have one also. No fishing for anything there without one.

Buy MN fishing license then add trout stamp if needed.

If you intend to catch a trout then you need the trout stamp on your MN fishing license.
