I just bought an Alumacraft canoe, and would like to make some modifications to be able to bring my daughters out with me and for when I'm solo. I'd like to add a seat or two in the middle that would be easy to remove when I need to haul gear. I'd also like to add outriggers for stability when they're with, again, I'd like to be able to remove them easily. The last thing I'd like to add is a yoke, again, removable. I love in southern Minnesota so most of my paddling will be around here and won't need the yoke.
I know that there are many different products of all of these that I can buy, but I'm more of a DIY person trying to save money. Any suggestions, pictures, or plans for modifications would be greatly appreciated!

The yoke is trivial. See them for sale on CL almost daily. Outriggers are totally not needed on an alumacraft canoe (or any other for that matter, even with kids). Center seat google "canoe center seat" you will see numerous options to give you an idea of what you can DIY. Actually the same goes for yoke.

Where are you seeing yokes on CL? I can't ever seem to find them. I'm an experienced canoer and I understand that outriggers aren't NEEDED, but I was hoping maybe I'd be able to see what others have done and figure something out on my own. I have Googled all of this already, but was hoping to get some insight on here.

There have been many discussions of removable solo yokes in here. The same sort of clamps used for those could be used for both a yoke for your alumacraft and for mounting outriggers.

For seats, you can hang them from the gunwales by drilling holes and dropping bolts through them. Then they will be removable.

You could also go the same route with the yoke and outriggers. Drill holes in the gunwales and use bolts to attach whatever you want to attach at the moment. That might give a more solid yoke mount for a boat as heavy as an aluminum one.

If you do go with clamps, think about putting rubber sleeves on them. We have a Spring Creek rowing rig that we use on an alumacraft and those clamps hold very solidly.

Seems to me at least 2-3 times a week I see alumacraft or gruman yokes on CL. maybe I'm just lucky. I see outriggers pretty regularly as well. Just lucky I guess, idunno...
