If governor Walz extends/modifies the stay at home order, would you please not wait until I’m at my entry point on the 18th to make an announcement/keep closed overnight camping.

Best Regards

Taylor

At this point I don’t know whether to pack or plan for this trip.

I am in the same scenario. Much is contingent on what Walz says today/tomorrow.
I have a feeling Minnesota will be told to shelter in place for another 2 weeks, YET I could be proven wrong.
But, I agree that FS needs to be on top of their decision upon what Walz mandates.

Let’s all keep our paddles crossed that the BWCA is one of the exception if he extends.

For what it's worth, my Dad and I have a trip the 28th-31st. If camping is cancelled, we are planning on still going and we will just stay in the Hotel each night and go out for day trips. Not ideal, but holy crap I am sick of not being allowed to go to a literal Wilderness.

It sounds like BWCA regs in real life - no parties of more than 10, lol.

The new Executive Order “strongly discourages “unnecessary travel” and encourages people to stay close to home.

Not sure this will lead to opening up for overnight camping in BWCA.

Lol very true. I am still hoping for overnights soon though.
