Has anyone done a day trip to Swan Lake going through Bower Trout to Marshall to Dougout to Skidway to Swan? How long did it take to get to Swan? How's the fishing in Swan and the lakes that you go through to get there? Is it worth it?? Thanks for any and all info.

We went in to Swan through BT last fall and if my memory serves me right it is about 4-5 hours to get there. The portages in between can be muddy. Only fished Swan and BT so no experience with the others. We got skunked at both Swan and BT, however I feel a skilled fisherman at the right time of year could have great luck. Skidway and dugout are quite shallow and weedy, there are a couple spots on dugout you’ll have to pull the boat over if water is low. This area has some great views! Make sure to look for the sandy beach on swan to go swimming and go for the site on the point across from the portage.

I just returned from a two night trip at Swan Lake. It was about 4-5 hour travel from Bower Trout to Swan. Portages will most likely be muddy. The dishing on Swan was okay. I would say the lakes are kindy of muddy and not the prettiest until you reach Swan.

We caught Walleye, Bass, and White fish. Not a ton of fish, but enough to have a nice dinner.

Not much traffic coming through Swan. I only saw 2 other canoes on my trip, and that was over the 4th of July weekend.

Bower Trout in and out

Fishing was pretty slow...but Vernon and Brule bay aren't that far away.
