I believe it's the far NE end of Knife proper, after the narrows and up to Ottertrack. It's still part of Knife, just has it's own name.

^ +1 just like the South Arm aka SAK same lake just a name for, a certain section of it , being long and narrow and 5,000 acres.

Yep, as they said. We paddled through here last spring. Narrows is actually pretty narrow for a lake that size

Fish those narrows for walleye. Main part a little knife for lake trout it's deep

Apologies for resurrecting this dead thread but I want to confirm a very specific point before we head up next week. Are the narrows folks are describing here what connects Knife to Little Knife?

The map makes it hard to tell if it's passable between the two and there's only one pic on paddle planner that looks a bit rocky. Thinking of doing an ottertrack - lil knife - Knife loop so I'd like to know if this is floatable or if we should look at detouring through Amoeber instead before we get out there. Thanks!

You can get through that even on lower water years. It does have sort of a narrow passage you need to go through so take it slow. This year with the high water it will be even easier though.

Here are 3 different trips through that gap over the last 3 years.

Excellent, thanks Ryan! Might just do that loop and use it as a way to hit Thunder Point before looping back down through SAK.

Yep, it's where it's been mentioned. I agree w/ fishing that spot as there is some water flow to the west. However, you're RIGHT on the border there so be careful you're on the US side and only fishing the US side if you want to be safe
