I'm sorry if it's inappropriate to cross-post, but I posted a similar message on the listening post thread before I knew that there was a hiking subforum.
I'm planning to hike the Sioux Hustler Trail with my 11-year-old son later in June, and I'm wondering if anyone has been on the trail this year and can report on its condition?
I called the ranger station, but they didn't have any information about the current state of the trail.
I understand that things were a little rough on the trail several years ago but have heard that some volunteers helped to clean it up considerably in the last few years.
We're taking it slow with plans to stay out on the trail for five nights, never hiking much more than 6.5 miles (our longest days will be the first and the last).
I appreciate the feedback I got previously on the listening post and just thought I'd check here to see if anyone has additional information or insight to share about the trail.
Thanks!

I ran the Sioux Hustler 5/16 and thought the trail was in good shape and easy to follow. There were occasional trees down and wet spots but nothing too bad. Crossing the 1st beaver dam was the only tricky spot for me where I needed my GPS to assure myself that the trail went over the beaver dam.

Sweet, didn't know you were on the board. I always look to see if you've done a video of a trail I'm doing before I do it.
I'm thinking I'll do this one in three days (two nights) with my daughter some time this month. I'll watch your video!

Hey Shug - what was your experience with campsite availability on the SH Trail?

We sure had no problem. I think a lot of folks go to to Devil's Cascade or Shell Lake after the 7 mile spur trail in.
Whoooooooo Buddy))))))

This was great!
The SHT (Sioux Hustler Trail) is definitely on my bucket list after I finish the other SHT (Superior Hiking Trail) which I'll finish this year.
