This House Wren has taken up residence in a decorative garden bird house on our property. They have a nice song. Because they are so small, I had to look carefully for them. They have a few habitual singing posts, so I set up a tripod and waited. These birds are new for us.

House Wrens are singing their little hearts out this morning.

You are an early riser! Their little bird house is right next to our kitchen window, so we see and hear them from sunrise to sunset.

Early mornings are the best. Especially this time of year.

Singing starts before sunrise, feeding follows. I have enjoyed without really knowing who was singing. I am paying more attention this year and recognize cardinal, oriole and the catbird. Any sources or apps you use to learn?

I'm sure there are many apps to choose from to put on your phone as well.

The Cornell U. site is a good resource, too.
