Hello All, I bought a Kni-co stove to go with a snowtrekker tent and it worked like a charm. My only task now is how do I keep stove in good shape in off season. Have some rust on it. Any suggestions? It got up to 92 today, already dreaming of winter!

I sprayed mine down with High Heat Black Spray Paint, meant for grills and such. Any hardware store should carry it. Did that almost 10 years ago and the stove is doing well.

Another thing you might want to do, if you haven't already, is to make a false bottom for the inside of the stove. This acts as a sacrificial barrier so that the bottom doesn't burn out too quickly.

thanks, I put in some sand for the bottom, adds some weight, but was easy solution. on the paint, seems like would be other options or would come with paint in first place, but thanks for suggestion and my default to it.

A false bottom like Minnesotian says will work just as well or better than sand and weighs less and is cleaner. I've also occasionally sprayed mine down with grill paint, but honestly most years I just make sure it is really dry and the put it away. After 7 years, I've only got a few little tinges of rust - no big deal.

I vacuum out the inside real well before storing for the warm months. I spray the outside with high temp paint and the inside with some cooking spray. I also use a false bottom.
