Planning on a trip to Trout lake off Lake Vermillion. 25 HP limit lake... Does anyone know who runs the mechanical portage - what hours, that kind of stuff. Do I need to call ahead... planning?

It's been some years since I used the mechanical portage; From what I remember is you don't need to plan ahead, but make sure you got money to pay.

Try calling Lonnie Johnson he runs the motor portage and also guides on Vermilion.
