Looking for a website with "official" information.

Your post title and first post are rather cryptic.
What information do you seek? A few more details would help.
"Official" information about what?

I have read on different threads that campsites within the bwca are "closed". Some for bears or there may be other reasons. Where does one get this information?

Fs.usda.gov. search for Superior national forest.....good luck. They only give the major updates. Things don't get updated very often. Pagami creek fire update for closed campsites is years behind. I assume you're looking for sites closed from bear activity? I doubt you'll see those online......too fluid. At best, you'll see signs at involved entry points.

The entry point may have information about bears, but not usually anything about closed sites. The only way you’ll know is when you get to a particular site and it has a sign saying it’s closed. You’re best bet is to talk to people you pass on your way in. Most of the time they can guide you to which sites are open and if there’s any near activity in the area.

For temporary closed information, I don't believe you can find this officially anywhere except in some sort of memo like the Alpine one.

For permanently closed, we have synch'd our open and close status with the FS as of the spring of this year. I am sure there are some inaccuracies but the best you will get.

I have seen closed campsites with signage stating the closure. Often accompanied by dropping a few trees over the removed fire-grate area. Unless specifically marked any site with fire-grate and a latrine are open for use.

Yes, too fluid. Any information relating to a route will be posted at the Entry Points. The campsites are all first come, first serve. If a campsite is closed, the campsite will be posted and marked closed. You can also call the district of your route and ask them.
There is a high number of bear sighting and encounters. A fed bear is a dead bear. With the incredibly dry conditions, the berries and other natural foods are not lush, so LNT more than ever.
