Greetings,
I am just finishing up a new set of mahogany gunwales and thwarts on a BlackHawk canoe I stumbled into at a pawn shop a couple of years ago.
Looks like it was rarely paddled, but left outside and the gunwales rotted.
I have refinished the hull, and it is in excellent condition.
From what I can find, I believe it is a "Fish Hawk" model.
It is slim (25" width) 13' long with a built in Pedestal seat.
Not sure what it would be worth, or if anyone is interested in this boat.
I just saw it abandoned, and couldn't pass it up.
I can add photos if there is interest.

You are right. I got over eager. I can take some photos, its just still in the slings with clamps as I finish up the decks and make some matching mahogany thwarts.

My significant other has decided that we are in the market for our first canoe...

I'd love to see some photos of your finished project on your Blackhawk.

I currently own a few Blackhawks myself. If my memory serves me;at one time or another I have owned 8 different Blackhawk models.
Pictured are some of the smaller solo Blackhawks I currently own.



I particularly love the Ariel,Zephyr and SS Special models.

I've seen a lot of great examples come and go within a blink this past week on my local craigslist! Keep your eyes open and have a plan for when you guys find one you like.
