I have a 20 degree top quilt currently and that was too much when i was in late june a few weeks ago. Looking for a inexpensive alternative for Summer trips, i will be up again in mid July. On the hammockforums i see some are using the snugpack Jungle Blanket, im just looking for any ideas from others that trip to BWCA in the summer months and what they use, i kick myself because i sold a HG Burrow 40 degree a few years ago which would have worked great.

I just use a light sleeping bag. Or you could use a fleece blanket

I picked up a snugpak jungle blanket, 25Oz, weight about the same as my 20 degree. Will see how it goes in a few weeks here.

You had the perfect top quilt, so what about getting the same quilt but the less expensive Economy version?

Econ burrow 40 starts at 140.00, its just alot for me to justify, i sold my regular burrow because i felt it was to costly for the amount of use. Of course now im on my second summer trip. The snugpak was 38.00 and should be good down to low 50's and more.

I'll second the snugpak jungle blanket. Almost as good is an army surplus poncho liner.

Exactly!. (I have the economy 40 and it's what I take in the summer. This June 12-13-14 it was in the upper 30s at night. With the econ 40 and lightweight full-length underwear I was cozy.)

I would highly recommend the North Face Wasatch 40 degree bag. It is great for summertime temps, super light (1 lb 8 oz), and inexpensive ($50-$70). Additionally it can pack down very small but this does require additional expense of another stuff sack. The sack that comes with it is fairly large and is not a compression sack... just a bag with a drawstring.
