Hi,
We have a group of four, 2 canoes, going in at #26 next week. We want to get to Wind Lake the first day. Looks like from Hula you could go up the adjoining river to Wind Bay. It looks very rough, is it passable? Doable for an old timer and ten year old?

Going in Wood - #26 - it only about 3.5 miles to Hula - a 2 hour paddle. But, Hula is icky and over grown the last time I was there.

All the way to Wind lake is about 10 miles and 5 hours of travel time. I loved Indiana Lake, which could be on your route - clear water and not busy. The 188 rod into Wind Lake is not a simple one. It climbs a little right off the water then climbs again for about 100 rods before dropping to Wind Lake. The island sites in both Wind Lake and Wind Bay are good.
Get an early start and take it easy! You can do it!
