Heading in on 8/12/20. EP 64 East Bearskin Lake to Alder. Hoping to set up base camp on Alder or Canoe. Staying for 6 days.

Looking for any fishing advice for the area. We could and may day trip to Caribou too.

Also, I plan to bring a Garmin Styker 4 fish finder, that I have some portable battery packs made up for, but we cannot use it constantly.

Looking at the maps, these lakes don't appear to have much visible structure, islands, running water/rivers, etc.

Pretty decent multi-species area. Lake trout in Crystal, splake in Pierz, walleyes in Canoe, bass all around. There are also brookies in an adjacent lake available to the thorough researcher. Look for the tiny bit of current on Canoe.

Alder is supposed to have lakers as well. It's a deep basin in some parts of that lake, I only trolled through there once with deep-diving taildancers with no luck. If I spent more time there with my fishfinder, I could probably track them down. I had no luck on Canoe when I fished it with a friend. The first frost had just set in for the season or more likely it was just my poor technique! I'm sure that there are fish in there. :)
