Many other animals and birds get tangled in fishing line. Please dispose properly.

We found a canada goose all tangled up in fishing line. We freed the goose but I'm afraid it was too late. So when ever I see discarded line laying around it disgusts me because it pure laziness and disregard for the environment to not take care of it!!

Sometimes even people, too! It is a pet peeve of mine. I especially get upset when it is lying in the water or even on the shore with a fish hook attached.

Just another example of people not caring about more than themselves.

Yes that’s too bad that people are so disrespectful. I have seen plenty of fishing line in the water that I’ve picked up. It gets broken off by a fish or rocks then floats to the surface with the lure still attached.

I once freed a bird at a put-in that had just one loop around a leg but that bird was screwed if not for the pure chance of me showing up. I find so much of it while paddling...even dangling from power lines, and often with a rusty hook or lure attached. About a month ago I was collecting lures that people had lost and dropping them behind me in the canoe. After picking one up and dropping it behind me I continued paddling and about 100 yards later my canoe was suddenly and violently yanked to a full stop (in current). Turns out the last lure I picked up still had a lot of line attached to it that I hadn't noticed. Personally I think it should be illegal since it's just so evil to other creatures. I have to believe that there are biodegradable substitutes.

Yep, we were walking by a lake in a park and my wife got snagged by a bundle of mono. Very annoying.

Amen!

Cut the plastic holders up for cans as well! Even the small points in the plastic holder. Not just. The main ring.
