For those that use them, how do you cleanly transport crisco sticks?

I have never used them before tonight in a trial run at home. I see they are sealed nicely before opening. But, how do you transport them once a stick is opened? Do they melt on you during the day?

They usually come in a plastic case as well as the wrapper. I just fold over the wrapper and put back in the case. I also put them in a zip lock. Have never had one melt but I usually trip in the shoulder seasons. I wouldn't think you would have a problem with melting unless you left them in the direct sun light.

thanks!

Do you reuse the oil (or solid) to cook with again or is it one time use?

I try to only melt/use what I need & anything left in the pan gets wiped out.

I have done two things. Sometimes I have sealed them in a bag using my food sealer. They get a bit mushed up by the end of the trip if not used, but they stay in there. I've also packed the crisco into a small (like 1 or 1.5 inch wide) wide-top plastic nalgene bottle, which makes it easy to take some out but not all. I also store butter or ghee this way.

Not sure which way I like best. Both work.
