How has the fishing been up there in the last couple of weeks? I have to assume walleyes and pike are plenty deep by now off the main lake structure? Any other patterns forming or things you are noticing?

We did fairly well on Horse/Fourtown. Found most between 12 and 20 feet on the usual spots. Nothing much of size but enough for dinner. Leeches were definitely the ticket.

This past weekend we found walleyes and bass hammering leeches in 7-14 feet. Islands and shorelines. Didn’t try deep offshore because the other stuff was too easy. No real trophies but tons of quality fish over 18”.

I noticed my anchor bringing up muck a lot more than usual, they might have been gorging on some sort of bug hatch. Fun stuff to pitch jigs in, I don’t think I got snagged in 3 days.

Ok, they're more shallow than I was expecting. I'll probably start in the 10-15ft range and see if I need to head deeper.

I would say depth is more dependent on wind and clouds than temperature. We caught about 20 walleye in 2 days with slip bobbers off the campsite. Caught pike trolling anywhere from 2-15 ft and off the few weedlines on Stuart

Yeah I'm kind of looking for the current "climate" and I'll determine the "weather" when I get up there. Generally speaking it sounds like they might still be hugging shorelines and shallower structure.

Ive did a few fly fishing last July. I upgraded some of my fishing rods during the quarantine and last month I was finally able to use them. The new rods really enhanced my fishing experience. If anyone is looking to buy new rods, you should get more information here.
