How would you compare speed and glide to an Advantage?

Is there enough foot room to kneel when the seat is in the highest position?

Surely there are much more knowledgeable paddlers on this message board than me who could provide a deeply technical answer for you, but my understanding of the principles of speed and glide as applied to canoe forms is that the former is a property of length, and the latter of friction. Both canoes are approximately the same length--DY Special 2 inches longer, and I believe the DL Special is slightly narrower (maybe 1 inch) and with a slightly shallower entry angle. Both have generous tumblehome that allows for efficient paddle stroke angle and ability to place double blade paddle in more vertical approach. So, the DL Special would be a nose stronger in both categories--though, likely difficult to perceive.
Hope that helps.

The seat height positions are:
Bottom--4 1/2"
Middle--6 1/2"
Top--8 1/2"

Though I never have paddled this canoe kneeling, if helpful for sake of comparison, the kneeling thwart in my Northstar Polaris is at 9 1/2" and that provides more than enough room for my feet when kneeling.

DY owner here. I normally have my seat set at the highest position in back and the middle position in front. I can sit or kneel when configured like that. I find it comfortable, stable, and efficient to have one foot against the brace and the other tucked under the seat. I'm 6'2" with size 12 feet and fit just fine like that.

Regarding the Advantage comparison, I'd say the canoes are very similar in speed, efficiency, and stability.
