This manages waypoints, tracks, and routes, including navigating directly to a waypoint and TracBack to follow a track in reverse to where you started, but does not store maps. It is small and lightweight, waterproof and floats, and has an optional backlight for the display to use in the dark.

This would be a good unit for basic geocaching, marking waypoints to transfer to maps with a computer or come back to later, or use by children for learning or play without worrying about losing a more expensive unit.
