I am always searching for new music and bands. For those that use a streaming service like Spotify, Pandora, etc what are the last 5 songs you clicked "like" on.
If you don't use one, post 5 songs you have been listening to lately.
Mine:
Summertime - Elien Jewel
Green River - Elien Jewel
Papa Dukie and the Mud People - The Subdudes
99 Shades of Crazy - JJ Grey & Mofro
A little less Conversation - Guitar Shorty.

I listen to CD's in my vehicle, and I don't have a streaming service. I don't even listen to local stations on the radio, except KFAI once in a while.
Here are some of the bands I am have been listening to in the past couple of weeks:
Flogging Molly-Whiskey on Sunday
Jethro Tull-Thick as a Brick
Wishbone Ash-Live Dates
Tony Joe White-Swamp Music (box set)

It looks like Erika and company is coming out with new stuff. I just heard this yesterday afternoon and had to play all my other Heartless Bastards music when I got home.

If you keep putting all this good stuff on here, I will expand even more. Haven't been music shopping in a while, I need some new stuff. I like most music, from the Who and Zeppelin to Bluegrass and Irish folk songs to Hawkwind and Pink Floyd. But you really haven't lived till you have heard "Whole Lotta Love" by the Temple City Kazoo Orchestra.

Bear,
I stopped buy music a while ago. Tried the "whole music server" thing for all the ripped and itunes stuff...I had so much music, itunes would crash and you had to copy to flash drives or burn CD's to listen in the car.
Never thought I would pay for "radio", but the Spotify is great (Pandora also). It really is amazing the music that the services suggest. I can spend hours in Spotify just clicking on tunes and putting them in my play lists. With bluetooth in the car (you can get an external adapter), I just get in and fire up Spotify. Surely, will kill XM radio.

Here are two of my favorites from their recording The Mountain.
Had to Go
Could Be So Happy

Good stuff Inspector,
I liked Had to GO best, Could Be So Happy was also good, just wish I had eaten some shrooms before I listened to it :-)
May the rivers be crooked and winding, and your portages lonesome, leading to the most amazing view.

So you get that vibe from their music too. When I describe their sound I say it is a mixture of 60's psychedelic, folk, bluegrass, and Led Zeppelin.

Definitely got that vibe, I liked Witchy Poo.
Yours is probably a good description of the band, I listened to a bunch of their music after you turned me on to them.

Besides, I like to have the entire album, or whatever, in my sweaty palms. I don't think the method is as important as the music, so it's all good. I'm just a little slower than the rest of you.Bearpath9: "Wharfrat63: "Bearpath9: "I listen to CD's in my vehicle, and I don't have a streaming service. Sometimes I wish vinyl was still the medium of choice...Sounded better to me.
I think that the digitization of music has killed some of the things I liked about music: Cover Art, Liner Notes and the whole album as an experience. I would study those album covers. We just don't see things like Quadrophenia, 2112, Dark side of the Moon (Most pink floyd), etc. Then for the artists, digitization took the money out of it and made them make the dollars from touring. Although, one could argue, The Grateful Dead did that way before digitization.
I think the digitization of music, has some benefits. Anyone can make and record music now. No need for a Record Company or A&R Person. You can do it in your basement and post where ever you can. When I discovered Pandora, it brought me hope that the type of music I love was not gone. It was just hidden and the leveling of the recording playing field brought it out.
I am hoping the "digital distributors" don't eventually suppress the stuff I love by pricing the little guy our of the market.
