Went to lakeside cabin in Hayward WI and found lots of small bluegills and bass plentiful around the dock.

Grandkids had fun fishing ... I couldn't put worms on their hooks fast enough. My 3 year old grandaughter called this one in the pic a "MONSTER". Precious moment.

Can't wait to bring grandkids up north to Quetico for some real fishin'.

Young muskie are pretty cool looking. I end up getting quite a few small muskies when I tip up fish for Pike in the winter. Always a nice little treat mixed in.

cityfisher , i see your from the mpls area , what lakes do you ice fish ? i've never caught a muskie through the ice .
i use to fish tonka a lot , 1 winter a friend of mine caught a muskie that was 40" but an unbelievable 30 pounds on the digital usually a 40"er might hit 20 pounds , and no camera :(

My partner claims it takes more skill for the small ones!

The Rapala was bigger than the bass.
Smile is pretty big though.

Native brooke from a small crick in NW Pa. They'll hit almost anything if you're stealthy. Prettiest fish IMHO.

Shock,

+1 on jig spinner being one of the most versatile and underrated lures ever.

I was up on Comnee Lake in Quetico many years ago and a newby I brought along “schooled me” one afternoon on walleye. He was using a chartreuse jig with a white twister tail and gold blade spinner and I bet he caught 4 for every 1 walleye I caught. Made me a believer that day.

I always have some jig spinners in my tackle box now. Lots of smallies and northern hit a jig spinner too. I have a bud who swears by a large heavy jig spinner with a 5 inch Kalin Grub and Silver Spinner blade.

This one really wasnt that small. I like to hold them way in back of me to make them look smaller just in case somebody asks for small fish pictures.

i've brought long shank 3/4 oz jig heads add a 5" tail & spinnerblade , you have a larger profile bait and it will cut the wind for longer cast, no matter how strong the wind is.
