I have booked our group permit for late September and was wondering if there's any additional permitting needed as this is on the Canadian Border.

Thanks!

p.s. how is the fishing?

No additional permitting needed....some portages on Canadian side, some on US....good fishing for walleye and smallmouth! Nice easygoing route.

Portages covered in the treaty....ok to use. But, be careful which side of the line you are fishing on.

Yep, you'll just need regular MN fishing license and such. You can portage on the Canadian side if that's where it is but no fishing from that shore...no stopping for lunch...purely for travel purposes only. And when fishing....stay on the US side of the invisible line in the middle of the river. (or take a GPS if you think you need to be right on the edge for some reason)

The border is closed so you can't fish, camp, eat, or anything on the other side.
