Here’s what I was thinking to take on a week's worth of fishing for walleye and lake trout in the BWCA. Any suggestions on things I should add or subtract, I like to travel light so keep that in mind with your tackle recommendation.

8 1/8-oz jigs white
20 1/4-oz jigs white
8 3/8-oz jigs white
8 1/2- oz jigs white

20 4-inch White Berkeley power grub twister tails
12 5-inch Kalin white twister tails
12 3-inch white twister tails

-1 Daredevle (original or 5 of diamonds)
-2 Little Cleos 3/4 oz color-Blue dolphin super glow
-3 steel leaders

I fit all my tackle fishing tackle inside my life jacket where I have pliers, jaw splitters,
and extra fluorocarbon line.

i would add a rapala or two ,also 1 or 2 deep drivers. i also like jig spinners and by just adding a longer twistertail (5") you have a larger bait now , my preference is yellow. i suggest a blk/wht 1oz daredevil , as it has become my #1 go to spoon in the BW and back home , a great color pattern especially in clear water.

Thanks scotch for your input going to pick up some some deep diving cranks and maybe try out your go to spoon. We leave in about a week, excited to try out some of your knowledge.

i've never used one , but many on here talk about good success with the rapala taildancer for getting down close to 30' , and using snap weights to get lures even deeper for lake trout.
here's a pic of my spoon box , i've had very good success with the blk/wht daredevil and the gold/orange little cleo which actually weighs 1.6 oz. i contacted acme tackle and the largest little cleo they make now is 1oz.

I used to take a huge amount of tackle and most would never get used. Here is what I do now. I only take one Plano box of tackle. If it doesn’t fit, it doesn’t go along. Then fill with a few Rapala’s, jigs, slip bobbers, Mepps spinners, and daredevils.

To your list I would add:

One #8 shad rap in perch
One #13 original floating rap in perch
One deep diving Husky Jerk in Tennessee Shad
One 3.5” doctor spoon in blue/silver
One 1oz White bucktail jig

Ooh, does floral carbon smell better then fluorocarbon? All kidding aside, that sounds like a great lineup, although I would probably drop the 1/8 oz jigs and replace them with a diving rapala if you can get it to fit. That’s just my personal preference though. I’m making a similar tackle kit for a trip in September. Good luck!

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Poppers. If you are fishing this time of year and get a warm calm afternoon on some shallow bay (ex. Crooked Lake, pick a bay) , a popper can be more fun on smallies than should be legal. Whopper Plopper, zara spook, skitter pop, hula popper - any popper in frog or bug pattern should do it.

I like your thinking on all one color tails. I'd mix in some black, though, just in case. Also a couple of husky jerks.
